How soon should a complaint be filed?

If you notice that the goods are not in conformity with the contract, you have two months for notifying the seller. If you fail to do this within this time, you lose the right to lodge a complaint. In the case of food, the deadline is 3 days from the date of opening the packaging (in the case of packaged goods), the date of the sale (non-packaged goods), or receipt (in the case of delivered goods). If a sell-by date was indicated on a food article, a complaint made after this date will be invalid.

A complaint concerning non-perishable goods can be submitted only within the period of two years from the delivery of the product. This term, however, will not be binding if you prove that the seller at the time of entering into the contract knew that the product did not have the specified properties and you were not informed about this fact.
