When can you be detained by the police?
A suspected person can be detained by the police for a short period of time if there is a reasonable suspicion that he/she has committed a crime, and there is a risk of escape, hiding or covering the traces of a crime; or if the person's identity cannot be determined and he/she poses a threat to human life and health or property.
