EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2016 FINAL
 
Tomorrow (21st June) is the day when we will finally know if our city receives the title of the European Capital of Culture 2016. The press conference at which the results will be announced will be broadcast live in Plac po Farze (The Old Town), where a series of concerts and a DJ party (in Plac Łokietka, in front of the City Hall) will also take place (so prepare for a looong and eventful evening). Be there with us!

ART EXBITION
 
 
Sensui Oikawa - exhibition opening
22nd June (Weds), 6 p.m., Gardzienice Gallery, ul. Grodzka 5a

The artist will tell about her art and about Japanese traditions; she will also play the koto, a traditional Japanese instrument.
 
The exhibition will consist of ink illustrations to old and new poems referring to the colourful era of Heian. The artist is famous for her rich colour palette and the unusual hand-made paper with an addition of pure gold. Oikawa also paints on Japanese kimonos, silk and clay; she also sculpts.
 
After the exhibition opening, a workshop in calligraphy will take place at 6.30 p.m.
