Homo Faber invites you to the 9th edition of the International Film Festival WATCH DOCS

Just like every year, WATCH DOCS is going on tour around Poland, starting with Lublin. This time the Lublin edition is the longest one so far, as it will last 13 days, from 1st to 13th March.

The main venues are the UMCS Academic Cultural Centre CHATKA ŻAKA and the UMCS Polish Language and Culture Centre. Prepare for six days packed with premiere screenings of the best documentaries from the Warsaw WATCH DOCS festival. As of 7th March (Monday), the events will move to a recently open Cafe-Bookshop Spółdzielnia (part of the United Nations Development Programme in Lublin, actively participating in actions supporting global development, human rights, global education and environmental protection).  The end of the festival will take place outside the city centre, in  the SKARPA Cultural Centre in Czuby. The organisers have responded to the expectations of the local inhabitants, offering them the opportunity to watch  some of the films without the need to go to the city centre.

The WATCH DOCS Film Festival was created by the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in 2001, in cooperation with the Ujazdowski Castle Contemporary Art Centre.

Every year in December, the month when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was proclaimed, the Helsinki Foundation organises a film festival in Warsaw. The documentaries presented address the matter of human rights from many different angles. There are also other accompanying events, especially panel discussions with human rights experts.

The festival is a non-profit event. Admission to all festival events is FREE.
