GENERAL
Lublin Social Kitchen vol.1
1st October (Sat) at 12 noon, Tektura ul. Wieniawska 15a
(contribution: 10 PLN)
Social Kitchen is a monthly event that is going to take place at Tektura. The idea is to socialise around food prepared by the participants. The aim is to create and strengthen social bonds by building a space of collaboration and exchange without the unnecessary market of brokers and mass-producers. Above all, it's about dispensing with the impersonal relation between the producer and the consumer, where we as individuals are reduced to the content of our wallets.
The principles of the Kitchen are as follows:
1. If you can, you cook something (ideally sth vegan, i.e. not containing any meat, fish, seafood or animal products such as dairy foods, eggs or honey). If you're unable to cook anything, you're still invited :) If you do, it would be good if the dish prepared was enough for 5-10 people.
2. All the food is put on a common table. Everybody is expected to donate 10 PLN; some of the money will go to cover the cost of foodstuffs bought by those who have cooked; the rest will go towards an initiative chosen together by all the participants at the end of the event.

Picnic of the Lublin Food Cooperative
1st October (Sat), 2 p.m., Tektura ul. Wieniawska 15a
admission FREE
The very first picnic organised by the Lublin Food Cooperative will take place right after the Social Kitchen.
The attractions will include:
- sampling of vegan dishes (free of charge)
- Pleasure Olympics (vegetable eating competition)
- potato stamps
- dancing with a giant pumpkin
- group races in potato sacks
- production of freshly squeezed juice (please bring your own fruit)
- vegan BBQ
- any many more!
You will have the opportunity to meet the Cooperative members and join the Cooperative yourself :)
All participants will be given booklets with vegan food receipes.
D.I.Y Fair (1st edition)
2nd October (Sun), 12 noon-6 p.m. Tektura ul. Wieniawska 15a
admission free
Handmade jewellery, bags, clothes, musical instruments, graphics, paintings and many more.
The idea behind this event is to show how many things can be handmade, often usings things that seem useless.

AT HOMO FABER
Welcoming foreign students
Last week we have inaugurated the season of welcome meetings with foreign students coming to study in Lublin on Erasmus and other programmes. We have started at the Medical University and will continue with UMCS, KUL and other institutions of higer education. Watch out for announcements of our trips and workshops :)
