OUTDOORS

SKANSEN
Aleja Warszawska 96
An open-air ethnographic museum, where a piece of past country life has been brought back to life in the city. It's a mini village recreated with original buildings and household equipment gathered from various parts of Lublin Province (there are even live animals such as horses, sheep or chickens). You can spend the whole day wandering around the place, visiting old cottages, windmill, smithy, wooden Orthodox church, etc; as weel as just sitting around in the many beautiful little gardens or down at the oxbow lake. A truly unique experience, highly recommended. Admission for students is just 5 PLN. For more info, go to the English version of the website at
