Countdown to the ECC final

As you may have noticed, a huge hourglass, constructed by the artist Jarosław Koziara, has been put in front of the City Hall, and its metal "grains of sand" are counting out the days until the final of the European Capital of Culture 2016 competition. Every day at noon somebody engaged in the ECC application process is asked to lower one of the metal balls in the hourglass. The first one was Włodzimierz Wysocki, deputy mayor and representative for the ECC; the second was Paco Montalvo, violinist from Cordoba, performing in Lublin in collaboration for the ECC project. The third ball was lowered by Lublin skaters. Other people operating the hourglass will be kindergarten children, schoolchildren, university students and University of the Third Age students.

All foreign nationals are invited on Sunday 22nd May, 11.55 a.m. in front of the City Hall (Plac Łokietka 1, opposite Brama Krakowska (Krakowska Gate)) in order to lower another ball in the hourglass. If somebody would like to go together with us, please come to our office (Krakowskie Przedmieście 39) at 11.30 a.m.

See you on Sunday! :)))
