HERA

Wacław Zimpel- clarinet, bass clarinet
Paweł Posteremczak- soprano and tenor saxophones
Ksawery Wójciński- double bass
Paweł Szpura- drums

HERA is part of a contemporary trend of improvised music, drawing inspiration from the European classical music heritage and the broadly understood tradition of jazz music, and finding their own unique expression – emotional and spontaneous. The musicians also make use of a vast array of folk instruments from all over the world.


HAMID DRAKE & PASCQUALE MIRRA
Radio Lublin Studio, ul. Obrońców Pokoju 2

Hamid Drake – a creative and energetic visionary of the drums, seen as one of the most interesting drummers, whose music defies comparisons. He makes use both of free jazz elements as well as ethnic rhythms and instruments. He will play together with the Italian vibraphonist Pasquale Mirra. The musicians have been playing together in Europe for a few years now with their project Tribute to Don Cherry.

TRZASKA/GASSER Duo

Clementine Gasser – cello

The idea behind the project is a combination of two remote traditions of improvisation: Gasser represents a tradition springing from the contemporary classical music, while Trzaska represents the free-impro-jazz school.

Dave Douglas ceaselessly experiments with the jazz tradition, combining various musical worlds (funk, gospel, bebop) into a unity that defies pigeon-holing.


17.04 Sunday

WOLFGANG REISINGER SOLO
Trinity Church (Kościół św. Trójcy), ul. Ewangelicka 1
5 p.m.
A solo concert combining drums, orchestra percussions and live electronic music. Reisinger has played this way in many duets, among others with Dave Liebman, Kauze Sawai (Japanese koto player) and Wolfgang Mitter (Austrian composer and master of electronic music).

David Boykin– saxophone, clarinet, vocals
Josh Abrams – bass guitar
Marcus Evans - drums
David Boykin is one of the most original and most active musicians of the young Chicago music scene. Composer and multi-instrumentalist, he plays the soprano and tenor sax, clarinets and drums. He regularly performs with the most eminent jazz musicians of Chicago and has performed both at the most important jazz festivals and the clubs of Europe and the USA.

IGOR BOXX BRESLAU LIVE
Workshops of Culture Performance Room (Sala Widowiskowa at Warsztaty Kultury), ul. Popiełuszki 5

Igor/ Magierski/ vj Spectribe/ Mazzol

Igor Boxx is the moniker of Igor Pudło of the Wrocław duo Skalpel. He has opened the new decade with a solo album Breslau. The album tells the story of Wrocław (Breslau in German) and its recent history, creating an evocative soundtrack for the terrifying but also fascinating scenes of the war Apocalypse.
