Emmanuel Jal (born about 1980), once a child soldier in Sudan, has won international recognition with a unique style of hip-hop, which presents and which calls for peace and reconciliation. Emmanuel was separated from his family in 1987, when he was seven years old and sent him to a bloody civil war in the ranks of the SPLA, the Sudanese rebel army. For several years, Emmanuel - like tens of thousands of other children - carried a gun and slept with Kalashnikovs. He fought, shot, killed.
The review will be accompanied to a further Letter-writing marathon of Amnesty International, which will be held in Homo Faber, Tektura and Private Middle and High School. of I.J. Paderewski.
International Festival GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE CINEMA is co-financed under the Polish Aid Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2010.
