8th WATCH DOCS Traveling Film Festival. Human Rights in Film. Lublin

International Film Festival WATCH DOCS was created by The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in 2001. Festival presents films which show human rights in many different ways. There are also many accompanying events aspecially  meetings and discussions with specialist of human freedom and rights.

International Film Festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film. On Tour - Lublin will take place for the 8th time. It is a replica of the International Film Festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film that takes place in Warsaw. In December 2009 the audience of the festival reached 15.000.

The festival in Lublin is becoming more and more popular. This year it will last 7 days - from March 1 through 7 and it will present over 20 movies. They will be divided into theme sessions: Africa Talks; Latin America; Russia, War and Russia; the US, Great China; Violence against Women; Still in the Middle East and I Want to See. On the last day, during To See it Again session, the audience will get a chance to see 5 most important films of this year's festival.\


There will be also a debate on perception of human rights in contemporary world.


The festival is organized by Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights and Społeczny Instytut Filmowy.
The Lublin edition is prepared by Homo Faber Association, Chatka Żaka Academic Cultural Center, MCSU Human Rights Department, Human Rights Center, Kinoteatr Projekt, Wyższa Szkoła Przedsiębiorczości i Administracji w Lublinie.
