Active Wednesday: photography

This time we concentrated on photography and Lublin as seen through our own eyes. Marta Sienkiewicz had also prepared a leading theme, which was composition. The second part of the workshop took place on 11th November at 6 a.m. in The Old Town.

Cinema at Homo Faber

Another Active Wednesday took the form of a film screening at Homo Faber. In a small group, having tea and snacks, we watched a Polish film entitled Wszystko Co Kocham (All That I Love). Afterwards we had an informal discussion about the film in a very nice atmosphere.

Today we took a walk around the Lublin of culture. We visited St Nicholas' Orchestra, Worhshops of Culture, Tektura and White Gallery, meeting those who 'create culture'.

ECC 2016 hourglass

Last Sunday, foreign students were invited to move one of the symbolic balls in the giant hourglass in front of the City Hall which symbolises the countdown to the ECC final. The person performing the task was Stasia Gusakova from Belarus.

On 29th September we met the participants of the Erasmus programme in KUL. We talked briefly about Lublin, our project, and we distributed Calendars and invited students to our office.

Calendar and Map

It is purple and in three languages: English, Polish and Ukrainian. Apart from a traditional calendar contents it gives you a lot of information about the city. The calendar is one of the many activities undertaken within the project "Welcome to Lublin." The project itself is designed to help those unfamiliar with Lublin to get to know the city better and to facilitate their adaptation to the unfamiliar place and make it their own. Inside the calendar you will find a little surprise. You can pick up the calendar FREE OF CHARGE at the Homo Faber Association office starting September 7th.
